Autumn 2010 is the time to see some fantastic and unusual art on River Thames as part of the Drift 10 exhibition. Bringing together nautical themed and watery art from some major international artists, the exhibition sees all kinds of installations and light sculptures creating art on River Thames from November 2010 - January 2011.

Drift 10
A number of art exhibits are to be installed during Drift 10 along the stretch of the Thames between Blackfriars Bridge and Canary Wharf, creating an unusual display of art. River Thames has often been the subject of many paintings over the years, but this is only the second time that is has been chosen as the venue itself.

Art in the river
Claude Monet painted many depictions of the River Thames in the 19th century, some of which are the most famous depictions of the river that runs through London. Now for Drift 10, the you can see the art on River Thames rather than about it, in this unusual exhibition.

Between bridges
With giant origami paper boats, light installations and event waterfalls, there are some truly stunning pieces of contemporary art on show in this celebration of the water. Running from Blackfriars down to Canary Wharf, various spots along the river are set to be the location for these intriguing works of art.

Art in the Olympic year
Drift 08 was the first of the exhibitions featuring art on River Thames, and the latest show in 2010 is part of a series that sees the installations gradually work their way up the river until they get to the 2012 Olympics site. Light installations, pieces that rely on the movement of the water, artwork on walkways, bridges and buildings, all combine to create a fantastic and innovative take on art exhibitions in London.

Drift artists
Artists from around the world have created artworks to be incuded in the exhibition, each taking the concept of Drift as their inspiration. Whether they are installing a spectral, wind powered fog light next to Bankside Pier, or creating a waterfall that drops water and projected words from live newsfeeds into the river, the Drift 10 artists have created a stunning interactive spectacle that is sure to become a staple exhibition in the art calendar year after year.

Drift 10, the exhibition of art on River Thames takes place from 4th November 2010 - 6th January 2011. Artworks are free to view.
